Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and the private sector have launched a $500 million for education development project

A five-year $500 million programme targeted at methodical development of the state's education sector.

The state government will provide 30% of the funding for the project, which will target secondary vocational and postsecondary graduates, with the remaining 70% coming from donor organizations and international grants.

In his remarks during the project's opening, Abdullahi Yabo, the initiative's Chief Organising Officer, stated that the project's key objectives included increasing school enrolment, retention, and completion rates among Kano youngsters.

Through curriculum updates and other soft/hard inputs, he stated that the project would focus on teacher competence, learner achievement, and quality education.

The project, according to Yabo, is in keeping with the Kano State government's priorities, which have made education one of the cornerstones of the state's social and economic revolution.

"As a significant step toward this objective, this Education Strategic Investment and Development Initiative provides the framework for the systematic development of the state's education sector over the next five years (2021-2026)," he stated.

"The ESIDI is concerned, and it will be executed under the supervision and control of the Kano State Ministry of Education. The government will be in charge of project supervision, while Cynox Development Engineering Limited will be in charge of project management."
