Davido donates N250m to orphanage homes
David Adeleke, also known as Davido, is a superstar singer and music executive who has donated N250million to orphanages in Nigeria.
This statement was made by the singer on Friday, November 19, 2021 and published Saturday, November 20, 2021.
This is two days after the singer asked his fans, colleagues, fans, and friends to donate money for his birthday as part of the N100million challenge.
David stated that he was awarded N200million in total for the challenge.
He donated N200m in addition to the N200m.
To oversee the distribution of the funds, he created a committee consisting of five people.
The singer revealed that he plans to raise money every year to mark his birthday and return the money to the poor.
David shared a copy via his Instagram account and wrote:

"I want to express my sincere thanks to my friends and colleagues for their generous expressions of affection in the recent days. I asked my friends and colleagues to send me money in celebration of my birthday a few days back, as usual.
"The response and the outcome were beyond my expectations. I received NGN 200,000,000.00 in just two days. Thank you to everyone who contributed hard-earned money. "
"I've always felt passionate about helping others and giving back. To this end, I am thrilled to announce that all funds received, which totaled NGN 200,000,000.00 will be donated to both orphanages in Nigeria and the Paroche foundation.
"In addition, I will make a personal donation in the amount of NGN 50,000,000.00 to bring the total to NGN 250,000,000.00. "
To ensure that funds are distributed to beneficiaries properly, I established a Disbursement Committee of five members. The committee includes:

Professor Yahaya Joel Asabe, Northern Nigeria Seventh Day Adventist Unit Conference.

"The committee will compile an inventory of all orphanages in Nigeria. They will then determine the number and needs of each orphanage and divide the funds accordingly.
Paroche foundation will receive a portion of the money determined by the committee. Transparency is maintained by the committee making public the names and amounts of each beneficiary orphanage. "
"Wema Bank will receive a list of beneficiaries along with their verified account details. They will then instruct each beneficiary to credit their account. "
"My goal is for this year's fundraising to be a celebration of my birthday and to give back to those in need. My friends, fans, and colleagues in the business will continue to support this cause. "
